This week it was a pleasure to spend more time on the study, even though the disciplining of oneself to sit down and "just do it" is not always easy ! God's word is consistently relevant, timeless. While reading these two Psalms and then the meditations it was clear how perfectly suited it is to those times we go through, as Kathy and I had both previously mentioned, when we feel low and missing our loved ones. TK used a great phrasing in his awesome question "But how will a believer get STRENGTH OF SOUL to deal with real, devastating defeats ?" Wow, to think of gaining such strength when we read and meditate and study and obey. No worldly solutions can compare to what our Lord freely gives us.
I am so glad that scriptures are timeless and remain relevant as long as the earth exists. Depending upon anyone or anything else for strength and guidance is futile. I think that we have all experienced that fact at some point or other. Even during this small time of financial questioning with regards to our church situation I am struck by the truth that God is completely in control and in fact had it all planned. I am concerned about you Laurie and how this is impacting you. Rest in the Lord and in His mighty power. Know that you are loved by Him and by your church family. We are praying for you!!
